We used to be city slickers, working in the Metro DC area and dreaming about a very different way of life. Then, we were laid off from our fancy jobs and decided it was time to really shake things up. In 2013, we literally picked Charlottesville, VA off the map and threw caution to the wind!

After a year or so, we settled in Scottsville, VA. We had some ideas about the kind of farm we wanted to build, but we needed to learn more... a LOT more. We decided to volunteer at Caromont Farm in Esmont, VA so we could better decide if we really wanted goats. The answer was a resounding YES! What started as two goats turned rather quickly into five, and we added our first beehive in 2017.
